Authority for Persons with Disabilities: Contracts Signed for Supply of 300 Specialized Wheelchairs, with Continued Distribution of Hearing Aids

The Kuwait Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities has signed several contracts to supply approximately 300 wheelchairs with specialized technical and medical specifications, as part of its plan to develop services provided to persons with disabilities, expedite procurement and delivery procedures, and reduce waiting times.
Dr. Khalifa Al-Hila, Acting Deputy Director General of the Medical, Psychological, and Social Services Sector at the Authority, told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Thursday that the wheelchairs were selected based on recommendations from specialized technical and medical committees that evaluate each case individually.
Al-Hila clarified that contracts were awarded to specialized companies with expertise in prosthetic and assistive devices, which provide maintenance, warranty, and after-sales services to ensure device quality and sustained usability, alongside monitoring contract implementation and enhancing technical and administrative procedures to gradually address existing requests.
He reaffirmed that the Authority continues to distribute hearing aids monthly to eligible persons with hearing impairments, in accordance with recommendations from specialized medical committees, following necessary examinations and the selection of the most suitable hearing aid.
