U.S. Bases at Desalination and Power Plants!
We, the peoples of the Gulf, have been blessed by God with numerous favors for which we praise Him at all times. The foremost of these is the blessing of Islam, followed by the blessing of security and safety in our homelands. We must not forget the blessing of the bonds of kinship among us as Gulf citizens, our mutual affection and compassion, which have enabled us to support one another in times of ease and hardship, in fulfillment of the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) saying: “The example of the believers in their affection, compassion, and mutual sympathy is like that of a body: when one part of it complains, the rest of the body responds with sleeplessness and fever.”
The best evidence of this is the way Gulf states rally around each other politically, economically, and militarily in the face of the heinous aggression by the Iranians, who daily launch their drones and missiles at our Gulf countries under the pretext of striking American bases. In reality, they are targeting civilian facilities, airports, and power and water generation plants in our Gulf nations. It is worth noting that Gulf states have maintained neutrality and restraint since the onset of this war. In contrast, the Iranians are terrorizing women and children in Gulf countries with their missiles and drones, attempting to drag us into a war in which we have no stake.
The entire world sees and witnesses that American warplanes are patrolling Iranian skies back and forth, bombing all Iranian military sites, supported alongside by American aircraft carrier battle groups that are blockading all Iranian coastlines. The tragedy is that, despite the humiliation and disgrace endured by Iranian leaders, they claim a fabricated victory to deceive their own people and their gullible followers. The question is directed at everyone who believes or supports them: Where is their victory when they see American aircraft and warships bombing them in broad daylight, unable to respond out of fear of escalation and to avoid becoming targets themselves?
On the other hand, the “hormone of courage and spirit of revenge” rises among Iranian leaders toward our Gulf countries, as they bomb our peaceful nations with all their weapons, openly and in daylight, to compensate for their humiliation, subservience, and weakness before the Americans. Therefore, as Gulf states, we must end the daily protest and condemnation messages we deliver to Iranian ambassadors in our countries regarding the bombing and destruction of our infrastructure by their state. Diplomatic protest messages have only emboldened the Iranians, who mistakenly believe we are the weakest link. They know, however, that what compels us to remain silent about the attacks we suffer is our deep-rooted political tradition as Gulf states, which is based on respecting good neighborly relations with neighboring countries. Iran, however, does not seem to recognize this principle; thus, it fails all peace initiatives and chooses war and destruction. Therefore, “enough diplomacy, O our Gulf states.” The time has come for us to take a serious step by adopting a unified decision as Gulf states to expel all Iranian diplomatic missions from our countries, in respect for the sovereignty of our territories and in defense of the dignity of our peoples. It is neither logical nor reasonable that their diplomatic missions remain among us in safety and security while their state bombs our territories daily. Finally, there is a pertinent question: If the Iranian leadership feels threatened and recognizes its military defeat, will we witness the flight of its military leaders, leaving the oppressed Iranian people to face their fate alone? The answer to this question will become clear in the coming period, God willing.
