Al-Nasr camps in Cairo in preparation for the new season
The board of directors of Al-Nasr Club, in coordination with the football department and the technical staff led by coach Zahir Al-Adwani, has finalized plans to hold a training camp in Cairo from August 1 to 20 next year, as part of the team’s preparation program for the 2026-2027 football season. The camp aims to enhance the players’ technical and physical fitness levels and achieve the highest degree of readiness.
In this context, the administrative staff is intensifying efforts to secure one or more friendly matches before the team departs for Cairo. However, the task appears challenging, as some Premier League clubs have not yet begun their training, while others are preparing to travel to their external camps. Meanwhile, First Division clubs continue their preparations to resume league competitions.
The first team continues its daily training sessions on the auxiliary field at Jaber Al-Ahmad Stadium, with players showing strong commitment to executing the preparation program devised by the technical staff.
Al-Nasr coach Zahir Al-Adwani confirmed that the team will play three trial matches during the Cairo camp. He specified that Al-Anabi (The Amber) will face Egyptian club ZED, Saudi club Al-Najm, and Libyan club Al-Ahly Tripoli, as part of the technical program prepared by the staff.
Al-Adwani explained that the objective of the camp is to bring the players to the best possible technical and physical level during this phase. He emphasized that all squad members are working with a unified spirit to restore Al-Nasr to its rightful standing and compete strongly in the upcoming season to achieve a respectable position for the club.
Al-Adwani noted that Tunisian international Hazem Al-Haj, Sudanese international Abdulrahman Kokko, and Malian international Moriba Diarra are currently participating in the team’s training. Algerian international Ayman Lahcene and Mauritanian international Sidi Yacoub Bouf will join the Al-Nasr delegation immediately upon their arrival in Cairo to begin preparations with their teammates.
In conclusion, Al-Adwani expressed confidence in Yarmouk’s ability to secure promotion to the Premier League in the remaining four rounds of the First Division competition.
It is worth noting that Al-Adwani managed Yarmouk last season, achieving outstanding results that culminated in sharing the First Division title with Al-Sahel, with each team accumulating 29 points. This success underscored his technical competence before his appointment to lead Al-Nasr in preparation for the new season.
