US Court: Maduro’s Trial to Begin in June 2027

A U.S. court ruled on Wednesday that ousted Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro must stand trial in the United States on June 1, 2027, following his arrest in a swift military operation in Caracas in January.
The former leader, 63, and his wife, Cilia Flores, 69, have been held in a Brooklyn jail in New York City for more than seven months, having pleaded not guilty to charges related to drug trafficking and illegal possession of firearms.
