Foreign Ministry: Kuwait keen on strengthening women's right to housing

This came during the meeting held with the Chairperson of the Women’s Housing Committee, Sheikh Bapi Al-Yousef, and Ghada Taher, the United Nations Resident Coordinator and Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Kuwait, along with representatives of UN organizations and agencies, at the headquarters of the Public Authority for Housing Welfare.

She highlighted the Committee’s role in monitoring social and economic challenges related to women’s housing, which contributes to the development of specialized databases and indicators for preparing relevant reports, reflecting the State of Kuwait’s commitment to women’s empowerment and providing housing solutions that meet their needs.

She emphasized the importance of continuing cooperation with the UN system to benefit from international expertise in the fields of inclusive housing and women’s empowerment, thereby contributing to the achievement of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and the State’s developmental vision, “Kuwait 2035.”
