Al-Salmiya and Kaftan Launch Preparations for the Season
The Al-Salmiya Club’s first team began its training sessions the evening before yesterday, in the presence of Chairman Sheikh Turki Al-Yousef, to offer support and encouragement to the players. Twenty-three players participated, including the two foreign professionals, Bahraini Abdullah Youssef and Uzbek Shahzod Azimdinov, while the rest of the foreign players are expected to join in the coming days.
During this phase, the technical staff, led by coach Ali Ashour, will limit the training program to two sessions: a morning session at the Iron Hall and an evening session on the green pitch, before heading to a training camp in Turkey scheduled between August 2 and 15. The camp will feature four progressive friendly matches, which are currently under negotiation.
For his part, coach Ali Ashour held a meeting with the players prior to the start of training, emphasizing the importance of commitment, discipline, attention to diet, and early sleep. He stressed that competition for a place in the starting lineup will remain open to the most serious players, and he praised Sheikh Turki Al-Yousef’s presence and his dedication to supporting the team.
Meanwhile, at Kazma, the first team began training with 20 players, with the foreign professionals absent as they will join the squad departing for Turkey on the 26th of this month. Croatian coach Tadić will lead tomorrow’s training session after arriving in the country in the morning.
The first training session witnessed great enthusiasm and a clear desire to compete for titles and deliver a level befitting the team in the new season.
Kazma also continued to strengthen its squad by signing Ahmed Al-Zanqi and Dhafer Al-Masri. Al-Zanqi expressed his gratitude to the Kuwait Club management, chaired by Khaled Al-Ghanim, and football operations deputy head Adel Aqila, for approving his departure despite his existing contract with the club. He conveyed via his account on the X platform his pride in the period he spent with Kuwait Club.
