Kuwait Finance House Warns Against Suspicious Links and Messages

Continuing its support for the “Let’s Be Aware” campaign, aimed at enhancing financial awareness, in collaboration with the Central Bank of Kuwait and the Kuwait Banks Association, Kuwait Finance House (KFH) warned against the risks of responding to suspicious messages and links.
Among the methods of online fraud is a message containing a malicious link that prompts the customer to click the link to access a specific website or to vote in a poll. Once the link is clicked, the customer’s device is compromised, allowing unauthorized access to their data, which is then exploited for malicious purposes.
The bank emphasized reminding customers that it will never request their personal information via email, text messages, or phone calls. Therefore, customers should avoid responding and sharing their information with such entities, as these are phishing attempts designed to obtain customers’ banking details in order to steal their money or personal data.
Regarding the protection of bank accounts, the bank has provided important advice to customers, such as not saving confidential information—such as bank card numbers or PINs—on mobile phones, refraining from sharing one-time passwords (OTP) with anyone, and logging out of the bank’s application or website immediately after completing a transaction.
