Customs Authorities Foil Smuggling of 10 Kilograms of Marijuana from Thailand

Officials from the General Administration of Customs at the Air Cargo Customs Department thwarted an attempt to smuggle approximately 10 kilograms of marijuana, which was concealed inside a shipment arriving from Thailand and declared in its documentation as containing a table and lighting fixtures. The seizure followed suspicions regarding the shipment, which was subjected to thorough customs inspection procedures. The inspection revealed the drugs hidden inside a box containing crates of lighting decorations, professionally concealed beneath the crates to evade customs controls. Coordination was immediately established with the General Administration for the Suppression of Drugs and Alcohol, leading to the apprehension of the Indian national while he was collecting the shipment, and legal proceedings were initiated against him.
