The Ukrainian Ambassador to Al-Jarida: Exploring New Opportunities for Partnership with Kuwait

Ukraine’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Maksym Subch, told Al-Jarida that his recent meeting with Najib Al-Badr, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for European Affairs, discussed ways to revitalize Kuwait-Ukraine cooperation across various fields of mutual interest, reflecting both sides’ desire to elevate bilateral relations.

He clarified that both sides agreed to continue coordinating on exchanging support for nominations in international organizations, in a manner that serves the shared interests of the two countries on the international stage. They also reaffirmed the importance of coordination to set a date for the fifth session of the Kuwait-Ukraine Joint Governmental Committee for Trade, Economic, and Technical Cooperation, given its role as a key platform for enhancing bilateral cooperation and exploring new partnership opportunities between the two countries.

On another note, the Ukrainian ambassador expressed his country’s strong condemnation of the ongoing Iranian attacks on Kuwait, emphasizing that these assaults constitute a blatant violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty, international law, and the UN Charter, and threaten the security and stability of the entire Gulf region.

Subch stated that Ukraine firmly rejects the targeting of civilians and critical infrastructure, and reaffirms Kuwait’s full right to protect its sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity. He expressed his country’s solidarity with the Kuwaiti leadership and people in the face of these attacks.

He added that respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states is a fundamental principle of international law, and that no acts of aggression or use of force against sovereign states can be tolerated. He called on the international community to continue its efforts to halt escalation and enhance security and stability in the region.
