Kuwait and Syria establish a high-level coordination committee and activate joint committees

Kuwait and Syria have agreed to establish a joint high-level coordination committee, chaired by Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jaraah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and his Syrian counterpart Asaad Al-Shaybani, during their meeting in Kuwait on Monday.

The two sides also agreed to activate joint committees to monitor various files of bilateral cooperation, and discussed enhancing coordination between the two countries, diplomatic cooperation, the exchange of ambassadors, and economic and investment cooperation through the establishment of a Kuwaiti-Syrian business council, as well as activating cooperation between the chambers of commerce and business councils in both countries.

Earlier on Monday, Al-Shaybani met with Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, discussing ways to strengthen bilateral relations and expand the horizons of joint cooperation in the interests of the two brotherly countries, as well as developments in the regional situation and efforts to consolidate security and stability in the region.

It is worth noting that Al-Shaybani arrived in Kuwait on Monday morning, where he was received by his Kuwaiti counterpart, Sheikh Jaraah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
