Operating profits reached 72.6 million, up by 8%. The bank’s total assets amounted to 10.6 billion, reflecting a 6% increase compared to the previous year, while its financing portfolio reached 8.1 billion, up by 8%.
Commenting on the financial results, Abdulaziz Abdullah Al-Shaikh, Chairman of the Board of Directors, stated that the bank’s performance in the first half of the year reflects the strength of the foundations underpinning its business model and its ability to sustain balanced performance, despite the geopolitical developments and economic challenges in the region that have impacted various sectors, including banking. He added that these results are the outcome of a prudent management approach focused on strengthening the financial position, maintaining disciplined risk management, and preserving strong levels of liquidity and capital, alongside adopting a long-term strategic vision that balances sustainable growth with seizing specific opportunities. This strategy supports the bank’s ability to continue delivering added value to shareholders, customers, partners, employees, and the communities in which it operates.
Al-Shaikh noted that the recent reaffirmation of the bank’s credit rating by global agency Moody’s, with a stable outlook, serves as further confirmation of its credit resilience. It reflects confidence in the strength of its financial position, asset quality, and risk management efficiency, as well as its ability to adapt to economic changes and maintain performance sustainability.
He pointed out that this strong performance was accompanied by continued momentum in developing products and services, enhancing the customer experience across various channels, and achieving several local, regional, and international accolades that highlight Boubyan’s position and leadership in innovation, digital banking, and Islamic finance.
He affirmed that the Board of Directors looks forward to the coming period with confidence and optimism, grounded in a clear strategy and solid financial foundations, while continuing to reinforce principles of governance and sound management to ensure sustained growth and consolidate the bank’s status as one of the leading Islamic financial institutions in Kuwait and the region.
For his part, Adel Al-Majed, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Boubyan Group, stated that the bank’s financial results for the first half of the year reinforce its position as the third-largest bank in Kuwait. They reflect the strength of its operational base and its capacity to sustain balanced performance, supported by diverse growth drivers, strong liquidity levels, growing operational efficiency, and high flexibility that enabled it to adapt to various conditions, ensure business continuity, and invest in developing banking services and solutions that meet customer aspirations and evolving needs.
Al-Majed explained that the launch of the Boubyan AI Transformation program marks a significant milestone in the bank’s journey toward institutional transformation in artificial intelligence. It represents a natural extension of continuous investments in building advanced digital infrastructure and developing institutional capabilities, enabling the bank to transition to a new phase of AI utilization within a clear, multi-year roadmap.
Al-Majid concluded by affirming that the bank would continue to focus on key growth drivers, enhance operational efficiency, and invest in innovation, technology, and human capital, thereby supporting its ability to achieve sustainable performance, strengthen its competitiveness, and solidify its position as a bank capable of adapting to changes and creating new growth opportunities.
During the first half of the year, Boubyan continued its support for the entrepreneurship ecosystem through the Empower by Boubyan initiative, organizing a series of discussion panels and mentoring sessions that brought together members of the initiative’s advisory board with a select group of participating tech startups. The aim was to exchange expertise and discuss the challenges and opportunities facing entrepreneurs.
These sessions align with the initiative’s pillar of mentoring and guidance, reflecting the bank’s direction toward providing practical support that goes beyond traditional financing solutions. This approach helps empower tech startups to develop their business models and enhance their readiness for growth and sustainability through discussions on various topics related to growth management, team building, decision-making in dynamic business environments, and project sustainability.
Boubyan further solidified its global presence by winning three prestigious awards from Global Finance in the 2026 Best Islamic Financial Institutions awards. These included “Best Islamic Bank for Transaction Banking,” “Most Innovative Islamic Bank,” and “Best Islamic Bank for Personal Banking.” These accolades reflect the success of the bank’s strategy in developing an Islamic banking model that combines innovation, operational efficiency, and excellence in financial services delivery.
Boubyan released its 2025 Sustainability Report, titled “Consolidating Corporate Sustainability Practices... It underscores the bank’s commitment to creating sustainable value aligned with Kuwait Vision 2035 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Boubyan places significant emphasis on investing in human capital and developing national capabilities. This is demonstrated through the launch of summer training programs targeted at university students, alongside specialized workshops and lectures conducted in collaboration with various universities and academic institutions. These initiatives aim to enhance youth readiness for the labor market and equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary to build sustainable career futures, reaffirming the bank’s commitment to preparing qualified national talent to keep pace with the rapid changes in the financial sector.
Boubyan continued to strengthen its presence in the regional and local economic landscape by featuring in Forbes’ 2026 list of the Top 100 Listed Companies in the Middle East, based on market capitalization, assets, and profitability. The bank ranked third locally among Kuwaiti banks and 52nd regionally, advancing nine positions compared to last year’s ranking.
In further confirmation of its commitment to applying global best practices in quality management, the bank obtained the ISO 9001 certification for Quality Management Systems. This achievement complements the institution’s ongoing development journey, which was crowned last year with the integrated implementation of the ISO 21500 standards for corporate project management and execution.
