Stock Market Indicators Rebound with 71 Million KD in Liquidity

Kuwait Stock Exchange indicators edged higher on Monday, following declines recorded across all indices on Sunday, amid regional tensions and the ongoing military conflict between the United States and Iran, which carries negative repercussions for Gulf states.

Listed companies have begun releasing their financial results for the first half of the year, a key factor in supporting index performance and offering investors a glimpse into the future outlook for stocks. While these results are expected to play a major role in market movements in the coming period, geopolitical factors remain the most prominent driver.

Coinciding with the rise in indices, trading liquidity increased by 12.6 percent to reach 71 million dinars. The First Market captured the largest share of this liquidity at 57 percent, while the Main Market accounted for the remaining 43 percent.

Some stocks posted positive performance, with Al Emaria leading the list of the most-gained stocks with an increase exceeding 14 percent, alongside several other stocks that recorded gains ranging above 4 percent.

A total of 134 stocks were traded; 74 rose, 46 fell, and 14 remained unchanged. Weighted indices declined in nine sectors, led by Consumer Goods (-2.18 percent) and Healthcare (-0.75 percent). Meanwhile, indices fell in four sectors, headed by Insurance (-2.6 percent) and Telecommunications (-0.40 percent).

In detail, the General Market Index rose by approximately 9.02 points, or 0.10 percent, to reach 8,626 points. Trading volume reached 297.9 million shares across 18,003 trades.

The First Market Index increased by 8.53 points, or 0.09 percent, to reach 9,044 points, with a liquidity value of 40.5 million dinars and a volume of 109.4 million shares executed through 8,249 trades.

The Main Index gained approximately 13.52 points, or 0.15 percent, closing at 8,769 points. The traded value stood at 30.5 million dinars, with a volume of 188.4 million shares executed through 9,754 trades.

Regarding the most-traded stocks by value, Bitak ranked first with 7.4 million dinars, closing at 771 fils. It was followed by Al Watani with 7.07 million dinars, closing at 808 fils, then Al Safwa with 3.39 million dinars, closing at 197 fils, and Al Taksees with 3.18 million dinars, closing at 148 fils. Al Emaria ranked fifth with 3.16 million dinars, closing at 154 fils.

Al Emaria topped the list of the most-gained stocks with a rise of 14.07 percent, trading 20.68 million shares. It was followed by Tharaya with a 4.90 percent gain, trading 1.64 million shares and closing at 214 fils. Cinema came next with a 3.36 percent rise, trading 11,100 shares and closing at 1.201 dinars. Tamdeen Al Aqariyah gained 3.49 percent, trading 4,983 shares and closing at 415 fils. Al Inma ranked fifth with a 3.36 percent increase, trading 3.43 million shares and closing at 123 fils.

On the other hand, Khalij Insurance’s share fell by 4.43 percent to top the list of the most declining stocks, with a trading volume of 559 shares, closing at a price of 1.013 dinars. It was followed by Injazat, which dropped by 3.21 percent on a trading volume of 3,850 shares, falling to a price of 151 fils. Next was Awal Takaful, down 3.15 percent on a trading volume of 514,300 shares, closing at 215 fils. Mawashi came fifth, declining by 3.08 percent on a trading volume of 4.90 million shares, dropping to 126 fils. Finally, Al-Iaada fell by 2.86 percent on a trading volume of 1,160 shares, closing at 340 fils.
