Scaloni breaks down in tears and ends his press conference

Lionel Scaloni, coach of the Argentina national team, was overcome with emotion and broke down in tears following the 1-0 defeat to Spain in the World Cup final on Sunday evening.

Before leaving, he clarified that he had not spoken with veteran star Lionel Messi about whether the match against Spain would be his last appearance in the “Albiceleste” jersey.

The coach added that he would hold a meeting with the president of the Argentine Football Association to decide his future, stating, “I deserve some time to make my decision. I am under contract until the end of December, and after that I will consider the matter.”

He concluded his remarks by saying, “I have an idea about what I want for my future, but I must first speak with the president of the federation.”
