Zionist hegemony and Iranian hegemony... the scales of evil are the same
The paramount strategic issue for Kuwait, and for all Gulf and Arab states, is to prevent and thwart any form of Zionist or Iranian hegemony over our countries or region. It is imperative and central to ensure the sovereignty and self-determination of every Arab state, defending these principles to achieve the overarching strategic goal that influence in our region remains exclusively our own and self-derived. We must take all necessary steps, measures, and form regional alliances to guarantee this.
There is no dispute that the instability, turmoil, tension, and uncertainty in the region stem from these two aberrant entities, alien and anomalous to the region. Both the Zionist entity, which occupies Palestine, and the Iranian entity, with its aggressive regime and ideological system, are the sources of disruption and instability in the region. The reasons for this are clear and widely recognized.
1. Both regimes pursue expansionist agendas at the expense of the existence of our Arab states in the region. Neither will miss any opportunity to impose its hegemony and influence over the region and its countries, aiming to reduce us to servitude, humiliation, and genocide, thereby erasing our states and our very existence, should the opportunity arise. Alternatively, they seek to enslave the majority of our populations in degrading servitude that bears no relation to human dignity, treating us as mere commodities, or even worse.
2. Both entities exploit religious narratives for vile, fascist, and retaliatory purposes aimed at genocide and ethnic cleansing, seeking to eliminate everything Arab and even Muslim. This allows each to grant itself a pre-emptive internal sense of justification, shielding it from guilt, prosecution, or remorse. Their ideologies, policies, and very structures are built upon this approach. Their educational curricula are designed through this lens, and the minds of their children are shaped and fed by it, with this legacy passed down through generations.
3. Both seek to impose their hegemony over the region and its states, viewing us as easy prey to complete that dominance. The reality of their practices since the establishment of each entity confirms this, as neither misses any opportunity, under any pretext, to act accordingly. What the Zionist entity has recently done in Palestine, Gaza, and the West Bank, and what it has done in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt over the years since 1948, 1956, 1967, and up to the present, is irrefutable proof of this entity’s malice and its evil efforts to extend its influence over the entire region. The concept of a “New Middle East” is merely a systematic application of this sinister agenda.
As for what the Iranian entity and its fascist regime—devoid of values or principles—have done to achieve its goals of extending influence, even through alliance with America, which it deceitfully and falsely labels the “Great Satan.” We witnessed this when it accepted arms from the Zionist entity during its war with Iraq. Furthermore, its broad alliance with the Zionist entity and the Americans in playing the role of a “boogeyman” that causes concern among regional states through the idea of “exporting the revolution,” and its numerous arrangements that allowed America and the Zionist entity to enable its dominance over Iraq from 2003 to the present, then over Lebanon via “Hezbollah,” then Yemen, and subsequently Syria, all serve its prescribed role of weakening Arab states, dividing them, and undermining Islam.
4. The conflict and war today, which we are paying for in a real and direct manner, exist solely because the two have disagreed on the distribution of their respective spheres of influence and expansions within the region’s states, at the expense of those states and their peoples. Despite this, they have agreed on sharing influence since 1984 to the present. Consequently, each has been accommodating and allied with the other, exchanging roles under direct American patronage and European approval.
We must extricate ourselves from this conflict and from attempts to impose influence upon us by building our own capacities, first at the Gulf level, second at the Arab level, and third at the Islamic level. This should be achieved through a robust Arab-Islamic-Gulf alliance that includes the Gulf Cooperation Council states, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Syria, and Jordan, so that we become active agents driven by a strong national, Gulf, and regional will and resolve, transforming us into a self-reliant and powerful entity. We are firmly convinced that the balance of evil is singular: whether it takes the form of Zionist hegemony, Iranian hegemony, or both combined.
