The Chamber contributes KD 250,000 to the Emergency Response Fund

The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development announced a contribution of 250,000 Kuwaiti dinars from the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry to support the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund, which the Fund launched on the 5th of this month. The initiative aims to enhance national preparedness and strengthen Kuwait’s capacity for immediate response to challenges and exceptional circumstances.
In a statement today, the Fund emphasized that this contribution embodies an effective national partnership between the public and private sectors, contributing to supporting and financing efforts aimed at enhancing the state’s readiness to confront emergency conditions and costs resulting from Iranian aggression and its proxies. It also reflects a spirit of national responsibility and societal solidarity in supporting Kuwait’s security and stability, and rallying around its wise leadership.
The Fund praised the economic and commercial role played by the Chamber since its establishment in 1959, recognizing it as a primary representative of the private sector and an active partner in supporting Kuwait’s economic development trajectory.
It affirmed that the Chamber contributes to enhancing the business environment, representing the interests of the private sector, and participating in shaping economic and trade policies, alongside its role in linking the Kuwaiti business community with regional and international economic institutions and organizations.
The Fund clarified that the establishment of the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund is part of an initiative proposed by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, which received approval from the Council of Ministers. The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development will manage the Fund and exercise full oversight of its operations, ensuring the provision of a flexible institutional mechanism that enables the state to respond swiftly and effectively to emergency conditions, in line with a comprehensive national vision that enhances the preparedness of state institutions and sustains their capabilities.
The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development renewed its call for government institutions, public authorities, private sector companies, and national financial institutions to actively contribute to supporting the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund. It stressed that supporting this Fund represents a strategic national investment that enhances developmental security, raises the level of national preparedness, and strengthens Kuwait’s ability to confront various challenges and exceptional circumstances.
