It emphasized that this reflects a systematic aggressive approach and a highly dangerous escalation, holding Iran fully legally and morally responsible for these serious attacks and their ensuing repercussions and consequences.

Immediately following the attack, the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy announced the activation of emergency plans to deal with the incident promptly and maintain system stability. The ministry confirmed that its technical teams are working around the clock to ensure grid stability and service continuity.

In a statement, the ministry noted that the General Fireforce teams began dealing with the fire and bringing it under control. Meanwhile, technical and emergency teams from the ministry, in coordination with security authorities, deployed to implement necessary precautionary measures to secure the station, assess damages, and work to restore affected units to service as quickly as possible, while adhering to the highest safety standards.

The Foreign Ministry stated in a separate statement that during diplomatic contacts, Kuwait’s full right to take all necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty and maintain its security and stability was reaffirmed. It added that the latest developments in the region were discussed, particularly regarding the current escalation, its repercussions, and efforts to enhance diplomatic solutions that contribute to preserving regional security and stability.

Amid the critical circumstances the country is enduring and the criminal Iranian strikes targeting its infrastructure—which have escalated to attacks on electricity and water stations—teams from the Ministry of Electricity have performed their duties with utmost efficiency. Citizens and residents have not experienced any disruption in service, thanks to the high professionalism of the staff, which deserves praise and expressions of gratitude for their tangible efforts to ensure continuous service. For its part, the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army announced yesterday morning that it had intercepted hostile missile and drone attacks following the reprehensible Iranian aggression against the country.

The General Staff clarified in a press statement that the sounds of explosions heard were the result of air defense systems intercepting hostile attacks, urging everyone to adhere to safety and security instructions issued by the competent authorities.

It affirmed Yemen’s full solidarity with Kuwait and its support for all measures Kuwait takes to safeguard its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

It constitutes a blatant violation of the provisions of international law, international humanitarian law, the UN Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817, holding Iran fully legally and morally responsible for these serious attacks and their ensuing repercussions and consequences.

It stressed that Kuwait reserves its full right to take all necessary measures to protect its security and defend its territory and vital facilities against any aggression or threat, based on its inherent right to self-defense, in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter and the rules of international law.

The Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy renewed its call yesterday for the conservation of electricity and water consumption, emphasizing that such conservation has become a national duty amid the exceptional circumstances the country is currently experiencing. The ministry urged citizens and residents to cooperate by optimizing the use of energy and water, thereby contributing to the stability of the power system and ensuring the continuous, efficient provision of services.

The ministry stressed that every contribution, no matter how small, in reducing consumption rates constitutes direct support for the power system, enhancing its capacity to confront current challenges and overcome this phase. It reaffirmed that responsibility for conserving consumption is shared, requiring the concerted efforts of all.

In a separate development, the ministry announced the continuation of works on the project to lay fiber-optic cables between existing main substations, as part of its plans to develop the infrastructure of the power system’s communication networks. This initiative aims to enhance the efficiency of interconnections between substations, improve reliability, and accelerate the exchange of data necessary for network operation and monitoring.

The ministry clarified that the project implementation requires excavation and backfilling works at several sites between the 19th and 25th of the current month. It noted that these works will be carried out according to a specific schedule, in coordination with relevant authorities, with necessary measures taken to maintain traffic flow and minimize any impact on road users. The ministry added that the work sites will include several areas across various governorates, including Fahd Al-Ahmad, Abu Halifa, Ar-Raqqa, Al-Uqaylah, Al-Fanitees, Huda, Adh-Dhahr, Shuwaikh Industrial, and Andalus.

The ministry called on citizens in these areas to cooperate with the work teams to ensure the project is completed within the specified timeframe. It emphasized that these efforts are part of its ongoing initiatives to develop the electricity network and enhance the efficiency of operation and control systems, in line with the needs of the current and future stages.
