Gulf national kills Sudanese in “Camel Rest Stop” in Kabd

A Gulf national killed a Sudanese resident inside the “Camel Souq” in the Kabd area yesterday evening, shooting him and several camels in full view of market visitors before fleeing the scene. He later surrendered to the security authorities.

According to details provided by a security source to Al-Jarida, the Ministry of Interior’s operations room received a report from visitors to the Camel Souq in Kabd—the designated site for buying and selling camels—about a murder taking place at the location. Upon receiving the report, security personnel, investigators, and forensic experts immediately proceeded to the site.

The source added that upon their arrival, security officers were informed by souq visitors that a Gulf resident had shot a Sudanese camel trader following financial disputes between them. The suspect fled in a white four-wheel-drive vehicle. Security forces circulated the suspect’s name and the vehicle’s description to all border crossings and checkpoints.

The source noted that security forces received a report from the Kabd police station stating that the suspect had surrendered, in possession of the murder weapon. The Deputy Public Prosecutor ordered the body to be exhumed and transferred to the Forensic Medicine Department, and tasked investigators with conducting the necessary inquiries into the case. After taking the suspect’s statement, the prosecutor ordered his detention pending trial and referred him to the Public Prosecution.
