Al-Huwail: Continuous review of emergency plans in care centers to address any developments

Dr. Amthal Al-Huwail, Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood, conducted an inspection visit to the Al-Sabahiyah Center for Care and Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities, under the Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities, as part of efforts to monitor the repercussions of recent security developments, ensure the safety of residents and staff, and verify the center’s readiness and contingency plans for handling any emergencies.

She emphasized that the safety of persons with disabilities is a top priority, noting that the Ministry and the Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities are continuously monitoring the situation in all care facilities around the clock to ensure their readiness and the efficient continuation of their services. She stressed the importance of regularly reviewing emergency plans and enhancing preparedness to respond to any new developments.

She expressed her reassurance regarding the safety of all residents and staff, commending the center’s readiness and the commitment she observed in implementing emergency plans and precautionary measures. She praised the efforts of the center’s management, as well as its medical, technical, and administrative staff, for their continuous work in providing comprehensive care and maintaining stability within the center.

Concluding her visit, Dr. Al-Huwail affirmed that field inspections and direct monitoring of all care homes and centers affiliated with the Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities will continue, alongside ongoing coordination with relevant authorities. These efforts aim to enhance readiness levels, ensure the uninterrupted provision of care and protection services to beneficiaries, and safeguard their well-being under all circumstances.
