Kuwait Writers Association Develops Its Digital Platform and Launches 'The Writer Portal'
Jamila Sayed Ali, Secretary-General of the Kuwait Writers Association, confirmed that the Association continues to develop its administrative and technical services in line with the digital transformation, enhancing communication with its members and elevating its cultural presence. This effort is driven by the Association’s mission to serve its members, strengthen interaction among them and with the venerable literary cultural institution, particularly in managing visual content and serving members and intellectuals.
Sayed Ali noted that the Association is continuously developing its website, offering members the “Poet’s Portal,” and establishing a social media page while upgrading its recordings section, visual content, the Association’s library, and the website of Al-Bayan magazine.
She clarified that updating the Association’s website, https://alrabeta.org, aims to satisfy Kuwaiti writers in a manner consistent with the Association’s status and cultural role. In this context, Sayed Ali added that the Association has implemented a Member Information Management System (“Poet’s Portal”) on its website to showcase writers’ profiles and allow continuous updates by assigning each member a username and password to renew their data independently. Additionally, a footer bar has been added to each profile displaying the covers of the writer’s literary publications and links to access them. Furthermore, Association members can download electronic copies of their books on their personal pages.
She continued: A dedicated page has been created to display all the Association’s videos on YouTube, enabling visitors to easily access visual content. A new social media page has also been added to document all events organized by the Association. All issues of Al-Bayan magazine are now available electronically to readers on the magazine’s page, and the Association’s digital library website has been updated for researchers, facilitating rapid knowledge dissemination and easier access to the authentic Arabic culture the Association has promoted throughout its distinguished history.
Sayed Ali emphasized that these steps align with the Association’s vision to leverage modern technologies in serving literature and culture, facilitate public access to cultural content, preserve Kuwaiti literary heritage, and enhance the presence of writers and their works in the digital environment.
She concluded her statement by inviting writers and Association members to utilize the new electronic services and update their data through the “Poet’s Portal,” thereby strengthening communication between members and the Association and contributing to building a modern database that reflects the Kuwaiti literary movement in a manner befitting its history and contributions.
