Sherine Abdel Wahab Breaks Her Own Guinness World Record
Egyptian singer Sherine Abdel-Wahab broke her previous Guinness World Record, raising the number of weeks she has spent at the top of the Billboard Arabic Top 100 Artists chart to 42 weeks, thereby maintaining her title as the artist with the longest duration at number one on the list.
According to the official Guinness World Records website, the record update was based on Sherine’s achievements on the Billboard Arabic charts. She held the top spot on the Billboard Arabic Top 100 Artists chart for 42 weeks as of May 30, 2026. The record also highlighted the success of her song “Kalim Aynih” (The Talk of His Eyes), which topped the Billboard Arabic Top 100 Songs chart for 19 weeks across six separate periods.
Sherine topped the first four editions of the Billboard Arabic Top 100 Artists chart since its launch on December 16, 2023, before returning to number one five times, most recently for four consecutive weeks. Nearly two and a half years after the chart’s launch, she remains the only artist to have reached the top spot. Historically, she ranks second in terms of total weeks at number one, with 42 weeks, behind Egyptian artist Amr Diab, who recorded 64 weeks.
Sherine previously entered the Guinness World Records in October 2024 after topping the Arabic editions of Billboard charts for several consecutive weeks.
Guinness World Records listed Sherine under the category “Longest Time at Number One on the Billboard Arabic Artists Chart,” after spending 11 weeks at the top of the Billboard Arabic Top 100 Artists chart starting from March 16, 2024.
The statement noted that several of Sherine’s songs contributed to her sustained dominance at the top, including “Al-Watr Al-Hassas” (The Sensitive String), “Sabri Qaleel” (Limited Patience), and “Kalim Aynih.” Amr Diab was the only artist to displace her from the number one spot for three weeks, from January 13 to 27, 2024.
This achievement comes as Sherine continues to revive her artistic activities, having recently released new musical works while preparing for a concert on August 7 in Porto Golf Alamein as part of the Summer 2026 season events.
