WHO Designates the Medical Liability Center as a Global Reference Center

The Ministry stated in a press release that this accreditation enables affiliation with the network of centers collaborating with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the implementation of international programs in training, research, and capacity building, as well as contributing to the development of policies and best practices in medical responsibility. It clarified that the international classification is “WHO Collaborating Centre for Medical Responsibility.”

The Ministry further explained that this accreditation is valid for four years, during which cooperation will be expanded in capacity building, exchange of expertise, policy development, and support for evidence-based practices. It serves as a catalyst for continuing work with international partners to enhance knowledge and expertise in the field of medical responsibility.

The Medical Responsibility Authority is an independent government body established in 2020. Its work and jurisdiction encompass all medical professions and supporting professions in both the public and private sectors, exclusively. It is responsible for providing technical opinions on all matters referred to it through complaints, reports, minutes, documents, cases, and lawsuits related to medical errors and professional violations.
