Spanish King Felipe VI and Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez are set to attend the FIFA World Cup final, where the Spanish national team, known as “La Roja,” will face Argentina, on Sunday.
The match between the European champions Spain and the defending champions Argentina, winners of the Copa America, will be held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
In fulfillment of a promise made to the Spanish national team after their last group-stage match against Uruguay, the Royal Palace in Madrid confirmed that the King will travel to the United States again to attend the highly anticipated final.
At the same time, the Spanish government announced that Sanchez will also be present as Spain seeks to claim its second World Cup title, 16 years after its first victory in the tournament.
