Electricity Authority: One of the power stations targeted in a reprehensible Iranian attack

The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy announced that, as a result of the unjust Iranian aggression against the State of Kuwait, one of the country’s power and desalination plants came under attack, causing damage to its facilities, sparking a fire, and affecting a large number of power generation units. This necessitated the activation of emergency plans and immediate response measures to mitigate the incident’s impact and safeguard the stability of the electrical system.

Firefighting teams promptly responded to the incident, successfully containing and extinguishing the fire. Meanwhile, technical and emergency teams affiliated with the Ministry, in coordination with relevant authorities, implemented the necessary technical and precautionary measures to assess the damage, secure the plant, and restore the affected units to service as quickly as possible, while adhering to the highest safety standards.

The Ministry reaffirmed that technical teams are working around the clock to maintain the stability of the electrical grid and ensure uninterrupted service, continuously monitoring grid indicators and taking all necessary actions to minimize any potential impact on the system.

The Ministry urges citizens and residents to cooperate during this exceptional phase by conserving electricity, as such efforts directly support the stability of the national electrical grid, enable technical teams to manage the system efficiently, and ensure continuous service across the country.

The Ministry emphasized that public awareness and cooperation under these circumstances constitute an integral part of the national efforts to address the repercussions of this aggression, and that every contribution to conserving electricity enhances the electrical system’s capacity to navigate this phase and supports repair and rehabilitation efforts for damaged facilities as swiftly as possible.
