Al Ain Museum Launches Its Summer Program
Al Ain Museum has unveiled its summer program, offering a diverse range of educational and cultural experiences designed to inspire visitors of all ages through interactive learning, creativity, and heritage exploration.
Running throughout July, August, and September, the program solidifies Al Ain Museum’s position as an interactive destination for families, children, and teenagers. It features a series of interactive workshops, live performances, immersive experiences, and comprehensive learning opportunities that embody the richness of the United Arab Emirates’ cultural heritage.
The program is headlined by a summer camp launched in mid-July, inviting children to explore archaeology, the museum’s collections, oasis life, traditional architecture, and Emirati heritage through hands-on activities and creative projects. Complementing this experience, the museum will launch in August the “Young Curator: From Visitor to Curator” program, offering teenagers interested in the heritage sector a behind-the-scenes look at museum work through practical training with a select group of museum specialists.
Commenting on the occasion, Omar Salem Al Kaabi, Director of Al Ain Museum, said: “Our summer program embodies Al Ain Museum’s commitment to making heritage an enjoyable and accessible experience for all. By combining hands-on learning with authentic cultural experiences, we aim to inspire the curiosity of emerging generations, encourage families to explore the museum together, and strengthen the community’s connection to the rich history and traditions of the Al Ain region.”
In addition to these main programs, the museum offers a range of family workshops and cultural activities inspired by its collections and Emirati traditions. Throughout the summer, visitors will have the opportunity to participate in creative craft workshops, watch live demonstrations of collection conservation and preservation, engage in interactive heritage experiences, and join comprehensive programs that provide an inclusive experience for all members of society.
Visitors can also continue exploring the museum’s temporary exhibition, “Al Hisn Neighborhood: Memory of Place and People,” which runs until the end of August. The exhibition celebrates one of Al Ain’s oldest historic neighborhoods, offering a unique perspective on the city’s social and architectural history through archaeological discoveries, historical narratives, and immersive displays.
Through its summer program, Al Ain Museum continues to reinforce its status as a vibrant cultural and educational destination, providing unique opportunities for community members to engage with Al Ain’s history, heritage, and stories in distinctive and interactive ways.
