Donors' Meeting Approves $1 Billion for Palestine

Omar Awadallah, the Palestinian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates for Political Affairs, said today that the meeting of the Donor Countries’ Coordination Committee for Palestinian Aid, held in the Belgian capital Brussels with the participation of more than 70 countries and international organizations, resulted in financial pledges totaling nearly $1 billion. These funds are earmarked to support humanitarian needs and early recovery efforts in the Gaza Strip, as well as to bolster the Palestinian budget.
Meanwhile, Palestinian health officials said an Israeli airstrike killed a man, his wife, and their six-year-old daughter in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, today, amid stalled negotiations aimed at securing a ceasefire agreement in Gaza brokered by the United States.
