Academic Accreditation Adds 24 Programs at Foreign Universities

The National Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education issued three decisions adding 24 academic programs to the list of higher education institutions in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada that Kuwaiti students are permitted to attend, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The recently issued decisions, copies of which were obtained by Al-Jarida, include the addition of 20 programs in the United States. These comprise 19 dental programs at various universities, notably Harvard, Boston University, New York University, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Michigan, and the University of Pittsburgh, as well as a sports science program at the University of Southern California.

In the United Kingdom, the decision adds a Bachelor’s and Master’s program in Pharmacology and Pharmacy at the University of Aberdeen, alongside a Bachelor’s program in Medical Technology at the University of Plymouth.

In Canada, a Doctor of Medicine program at Dalhousie University and a similar program at the University of Calgary were added to the list of approved higher education institutions and academic degrees for study abroad.

The decisions emphasized that studies must follow a regular attendance system and traditional education format, in compliance with the regulations and decisions governing study outside the State of Kuwait, and that the programs must meet the accreditation requirements set by the Ministry of Higher Education.
