Stock market liquidity drops to 52 million Kuwaiti dinars

The Kuwait Stock Exchange witnessed continued divergence in the performance of its indices during the penultimate session of the week, after the main market index achieved limited gains, while its First and General indices experienced slight declines.

Geopolitical events in the region continued to exert pressure on the market, reflected in a state of volatility and instability. The bourse opened with a broad-based rise in its indices, before most of them surrendered their gains and closed lower.

Traded liquidity fell by 18.5 percent to reach 52 million dinars, compared to 63.9 million dinars in yesterday’s session, amid a slowdown in activity pace and investors’ anticipation of developments in the regional landscape.

The First Market continued to capture the largest share of this liquidity, accounting for 55 percent, while the Main Market took the remaining 45 percent.

Despite the overall downward trend in market performance, some stocks managed to record varying degrees of gains. However, part of these gains was supported by limited trading volumes, reflecting continued caution among investors in their decision-making.
