The event was held under the patronage and presence of Capital Governor Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al-Ali, at the Tharia Hall in the JW Marriott hotel, with the attendance of CEO Shahin Hamad Al-Ghanim, several senior bank executives, as well as the students’ parents and the honored guests.

The ceremony recognized outstanding Kuwaiti students, including 10 from the scientific stream, 10 from the literary stream, and 10 from the Religious Institute, in addition to 5 students from the scientific stream and 5 from the literary stream in private education. This annual initiative reflects Waha Bank’s belief that academic excellence is the foundational building block for constructing a thriving society and a knowledge-based economy.

This recognition continues Waha Bank’s approach of supporting individuals as the central pillar of development, driven by its social responsibility to invest in promising national talents and to encourage a culture of excellence, innovation, and creativity among Kuwaiti youth.

On this occasion, Al-Ghanim stated, “We gather today to celebrate a group of Kuwaiti sons and daughters who have proven that ambition, coupled with willpower and hard work, achieves success. What we witness today is not merely academic excellence, but success stories that represent a source of pride for every Kuwaiti household and a message of hope confirming that Kuwait’s future is shaped by its youth.”

Al-Ghanim added, “At Waha Bank, we believe that investing in national intellect is the most sustainable investment. Therefore, we continue to support educational initiatives that contribute to preparing a generation equipped with the knowledge, skills, and ability to lead the future with confidence and competence. Education is the starting point for any sustainable development, and youth are the true wealth deserving of all support and care.”

Al-Ghanim clarified that the bank annually honors outstanding students to appreciate their exceptional efforts and to reinforce the importance of motivating them to continue their academic and professional journeys. He emphasized that honoring distinguished role models helps consolidate a culture of achievement and inspires future generations to strive for excellence and creativity.

For his part, Governor Al-Ali praised the bank’s annual initiative, affirming that celebrating top students sends a societal message that enhances the value of knowledge and entrenches a culture of diligence and excellence among the nation’s youth.

He stressed that the students’ honorable achievements are the result of years of perseverance, the support provided by their families and educational institutions, and the initiatives undertaken by private sector entities, which underscore the importance of community partnership in supporting the progress of education and development.
