Ministry of Higher Education Praises KFH's Role in Supporting "Wajihni" for Sponsored Students
Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Badr Al-Basiri, praised the support and contributions provided by Kuwait Finance House (KFH) to ensure the success of the National External Scholarship Campaign (Wajjahni). He emphasized that this contribution represents a qualitative addition to the Ministry’s efforts in preparing and qualifying students before they embark on their academic journeys abroad, reflecting the synergy between state institutions and the private sector in serving Kuwaiti students studying overseas.
This statement was made on the sidelines of an awareness session organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, in collaboration with KFH, for students accepted into the external scholarship program for the 2026/2027 academic year.
For his part, Yusuf Al-Ruwais, Head of Public Relations and Media at the Group in KFH, congratulated the accepted students, wishing them success, excellence, and a return to their homeland to contribute to the national development process.
He expressed KFH’s pride in its ongoing partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education in the Wajjahni campaign, which has successfully reached thousands of students and parents, contributing to raising their academic awareness and enhancing their readiness for university studies abroad.
Al-Ruwais stressed that supporting students, the educational process, and empowering youth constitute one of the main pillars of the bank’s strategy and its social responsibility and sustainability programs. This is driven by the bank’s belief in the importance of education and its pivotal role in building a better future and preparing national cadres capable of leading development and achieving progress in various fields.
He added that the Wajjahni campaign represents a successful model of partnership between the public and private sectors in serving Kuwaiti students at all stages of their scholarship journey, starting from awareness and guidance, proceeding through registration and admission, and culminating in awareness sessions that help introduce them to post-admission procedures and requirements and answer their inquiries. This assistance helps them begin their academic journey smoothly, noting that supporting students today will ultimately strengthen national competencies and drive development in Kuwait.
For his part, Faisal Al-Saad, First Director of Public Relations and Events at KFH, affirmed that the bank views students and youth as the true wealth of the nation, and is keen to support educational initiatives that contribute to developing their capabilities, refining their skills, and preparing them for a promising professional future.
Al-Saad pointed out that KFH’s participation in the Wajjahni campaign is an extension of the bank’s commitment to supporting training, awareness programs, and initiatives that enhance youth readiness for the job market and develop their abilities in creativity and innovation.
The educational and guidance session covered the requirements and procedures to be completed before departure, while the security session presented a set of awareness directives regarding cybercrimes, drug abuse prevention, and preventive measures.
