stc Strengthens Its Leadership in Environmental, Social, and Digital Governance

Kuwait Telecom Company (stc) announced the publication of its 2025 Annual Sustainability Report, the third in its series, reflecting the deep integration of sustainability principles into its strategy, governance, operational processes, and corporate decisions.
In this regard, stc stated in a press release that publishing the 2025 Sustainability Report represents a significant step demonstrating the company’s ongoing commitment to enhancing transparency and solidifying environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles across its various operations. The company emphasized that the report embodies the progress achieved in sustainability areas, whether through developing the governance framework, strengthening environmental initiatives, investing in human capital, enhancing customer experience, or supporting digital innovation.
stc added that integrating sustainability into the company’s strategy and operational processes has become an essential part of its corporate approach, ensuring the creation of long-term value for all stakeholders and reinforcing its role in supporting Kuwait Vision 2035 and contributing to building a sustainable and more resilient digital future. The company also stressed that establishing a Sustainability Steering Committee chaired by the Chief Executive Officer represents a qualitative leap in enhancing oversight of ESG initiatives and ensuring their integration across different departments, reflecting stc’s commitment to continuous improvement and compliance with global best practices in disclosure and sustainability.
The report highlights the progress the company achieved during the year, particularly following the establishment of the Sustainability Steering Committee chaired by Eng. Mutaab Abdullah Al-Darwish, CEO of stc Kuwait. This move strengthened oversight of sustainability and corporate responsibility (ESG) initiatives and raised accountability and governance standards across various departments. The report confirms that stc Kuwait continues to create long-term value through responsible growth, digital innovation, enhancing community impact, solidifying strong governance, and protecting the environment, in alignment with supporting Kuwait Vision 2035 and enabling a sustainable digital future for the country.
Furthermore, the report was prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) standards, and the Kuwait Stock Exchange’s ESG disclosure guidelines, in addition to being aligned with stc Group’s sustainability strategy and Kuwait Vision 2035.
On the environmental front, the company succeeded in reducing diesel-powered operational sites by 31 percent through the adoption of electric and hybrid energy solutions. It also reduced Scope 1 greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 23 percent compared to the previous year, and achieved full digital transformation of paper-based models and retail processes to support paperless operations.
In the field of talent development, stc Kuwait achieved an employee experience index of 88.8 percent, completed performance evaluations for 100 percent of employees, maintained a 61 percent Kuwaiti workforce ratio, and provided over 1,600 hours of training during the year.
Regarding customers and digital innovation, the company served more than 2.3 million subscribers while maintaining 100 percent coverage of 4G and 5G networks in Kuwait. It achieved a customer satisfaction rate of 90.4 percent and a first-call resolution rate of 95 percent. Additionally, it continued to enhance innovation through programs such as inspireU, which supports entrepreneurs and contributes to the development of digital solutions.
