Al-Jafira launches a family pottery-making course
Visual artist Amal Al-Jufairah is preparing to launch a new pottery training course titled “My Pleasant Moments with My Family,” an initiative that combines artistic creativity with strengthening family bonds by involving family members in crafting ceramic pieces that preserve their shared memories and document their beautiful moments.
Al-Jufairah stated that the course is based on the participation of mothers and their children in creating a single ceramic work. She emphasized that the objective goes beyond learning the basics of pottery; it aims to reinforce values of cooperation, love, and teamwork within the family, while producing a artistic souvenir that stands as a testament to that family experience.
She added that this initiative stems from her belief in the importance of leveraging the arts to support family cohesion. She noted that creative environments help family members communicate more effectively and enhance their spirit of participation, away from the pressures of daily life.
Al-Jufairah clarified that she is also preparing to launch a series of family-oriented courses aimed at encouraging handicrafts and fostering a culture of production and creativity. She pointed out that some workshops will be held in cafes, where participants will craft their own ceramic mugs, which will then be displayed for sale in the same cafe. This approach offers a comprehensive experience that combines learning, production, and marketing, encouraging participants to appreciate the value of handmade work.
She informed that the course runs for a full month, with two sessions per week, divided into morning hours from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM and evening hours from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM. She confirmed that the program is suitable for all age groups, offering families the opportunity to spend enjoyable times in an inspiring artistic environment that helps develop creative skills and strengthen family relationships through a practical experience that blends art with beautiful memories.
