American University signs MoU with 'Accountants' to enhance cooperation

The American University of Kuwait (AUK) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Kuwait Institute of Certified Public Accountants, in a move aimed at enhancing joint cooperation between the two parties and supporting academic education and professional development, thereby contributing to the preparation of qualified national cadres to meet labor market needs.

The signing ceremony was attended by the university’s president, Dr. Asil Al-Awadi. The memorandum was signed on behalf of the university by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ali Sharara, and on behalf of the institute by its Board of Chairman, Sabah Al-Jalawi.

The memorandum aims to expand areas of cooperation in various joint initiatives, including organizing conferences, seminars, and workshops; exchanging expertise and knowledge; enhancing training and professional development opportunities for students; and implementing activities that contribute to the development of the accounting and auditing profession, while linking academic learning with professional practice.

In a statement, the university announced that this partnership reflects its commitment to building strategic relationships with leading professional institutions, thereby enhancing the quality of education and providing students with greater opportunities to gain practical experience and interact with specialists across various sectors. This effort contributes to preparing graduates who possess the skills and knowledge required by the labor market.

The memorandum underscores both parties’ commitment to strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions and professional bodies through the launch of joint initiatives and programs that support innovation and knowledge exchange.
