Boubyan Launches Its Summer Program “Boubyan Explorer”

Boubyan Bank has announced the launch of its summer program, Boubyan Explorer, designed for high school students aged 16 to 18. The program aims to develop young people’s skills in exploration, analysis, and decision-making through a practical experience that simulates business study mechanisms and customer experience development within financial institutions.

The program operates under the umbrella of PRIME Academy, Boubyan Bank’s educational and training academy, which targets youth and students through specialized programs that combine theoretical knowledge with practical application. It contributes to preparing and empowering national talent, enabling them to acquire and refine skills that align with future demands.

The program spans 10 days, during which participants work in exploratory teams to study real-world challenges related to designing and managing services and customer experiences within the bank. This involves conducting field research, interviewing specialists, engaging with product developers and leaders from various departments, and analyzing results, culminating in the preparation of evidence-based recommendations presented to the bank’s senior management at the end of the program.

Abdulaziz Al-Roumi, Assistant Group Manager of Human Resources at Boubyan, stated that the launch of the “Boubyan Explorer” program extends the bank’s vision to empower young national talents to acquire the skills and knowledge that shape the future trajectory of the financial sector, amid rapid changes driven by technology, data, and artificial intelligence.

He added that institutions today no longer seek only knowledge holders, but also competencies capable of understanding challenges, asking the right questions, analyzing data, and reaching conclusions that support decision-making. This has prompted Boubyan Bank to design a program that gives participants the opportunity to develop this mindset through a practical experience simulating the realities of the business environment.

Al-Roumi clarified that the bank continues to expand its use of artificial intelligence across various work areas, based on its conviction that AI has become a key partner in supporting research, analysis, and decision-making processes. Accordingly, AI tools have been integrated into various stages of the program, helping participants use them professionally and responsibly when collecting and analyzing data to prepare recommendations.

Al-Roumi noted that the program offers a model for understanding business and decision-making, as participants undergo an experience that simulates the business exploration and analysis environment within the bank by studying real challenges related to customer experience and its development. They work in teams competing to analyze these challenges and present evidence-based practical recommendations.

He explained that the program combines theoretical learning with practical application through interactive challenges, field tasks, and inter-team competitions, alongside the use of AI tools to support research, analysis, and presentation preparation. This enhances participants’ ability to prepare and formulate recommendations based on data and real-world facts.
