King of Bahrain Mourns the Late Emir: Lost a Brother and Friend Before He Was a Leader

The King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, mourned the passing of the founding Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, who passed away after a life rich in contributions and achievements in service to his people, the Arab and Islamic nations, and in support of their causes. He extended his condolences and sympathies to the Emir of the State of Qatar and its people.

King Hamad stated that the founding Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, was a brother, a friend, and a leader of a fraternal country and a cherished people, dedicating his life to serving his homeland and advancing his nation.

He added, “Personally, I have lost a brother and a friend today, before he was a leader. I recall with pride the strong fraternal bond that connected me to His Highness, may God have mercy on him, characterized by a sincere brotherly friendship that spanned many years. We shared official meetings, special programs, and joint trips that solidified the ties of brotherhood and friendship between us, leaving a profound impact on my heart. Those were truly among the most beautiful periods, filled with affection and mutual respect that words cannot fully describe.”

He continued, “How many journeys brought us together on land, in councils, and during private travels, where we were brothers and friends before we were leaders. Those were among the most beautiful times of life, carrying an affection beyond description and memories that will remain etched in the heart as long as I live.”

He also expressed his full confidence that His Highness Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani would continue to carry the torch and complete the path of construction and progress laid down by the founding Emir, praying to God to grant him success and guide his steps for the benefit and advancement of the fraternal State of Qatar and its loyal people.
