Withdrawal of 582 asphalt samples from road sites

The Ministry of Public Works announced the withdrawal of 582 samples from various asphalt paving sites on highways and internal roads, aiming to verify that these samples comply with the technical specifications set by the ministry, which are designed to extend the service life of roads.

In its monthly statistical report for the Asphalt Department covering last June, the Ministry stated that 814 tests were completed at the government laboratory affiliated with the ministry. These tests encompass various types, including those related to buildings, such as concrete, as well as road-related tests, and five certificates were issued to factories upon their request.

The ministry noted that its specialized teams conducted 116 visits to asphalt plants as part of oversight measures for their operations, collecting 213 samples from these plants during the same month.

The Ministry of Public Works said that, as part of its supervisory efforts to monitor major road maintenance works, 582 samples were withdrawn from asphalt paving sites. Through these measures, the ministry aims to oversee paving operations and ensure that the asphalt laid at various locations meets the required technical specifications and conditions.

It clarified that the samples collected from different sites and factories are analyzed and their compliance is verified at the laboratories of the government center affiliated with the ministry.

The ministry commended the efforts of the technical personnel overseeing all these activities, which are a priority for Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan in monitoring all major road maintenance works.
