Guterres: Concerned over serious escalation and renewed military confrontations in the Gulf region

The United Nations Secretary-General expressed deep concern over the serious escalation and renewed military confrontations in the Gulf region, including Iranian attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz, US attacks on Iran, and Iranian attacks on targets in neighboring countries.

Secretary-General António Guterres, in a statement attributed to his spokesperson, emphasized the need for all such attacks to cease.

He also reiterated the necessity of restoring full freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
