GCC: Repeated Iranian attacks reveal Tehran's determination to entrench chaos

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states confirmed on Sunday that Iran’s repeated and brazen attacks on Gulf countries and Jordan reveal a systematic determination to entrench chaos and prevent the establishment of peace.

In a statement on Sunday, GCC Secretary-General Jassem Mohamed Al-Bedawi expressed his strongest condemnation and rejection of Iran’s continued destabilizing behavior toward the region’s security and stability, its repeated brazen attacks on the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, and Jordan, and its serious assaults on commercial vessels.

Al-Bedawi noted that these repeated and brazen Iranian attacks not only obstruct all efforts aimed at achieving security and stability in the region, but also reveal a systematic determination to entrench chaos, in blatant defiance of international law and the international will to establish peace.

He emphasized that the GCC supports all measures taken by the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, and Jordan to enhance their security, safeguard their sovereignty, and protect their populations and residents on their territories.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard launched an attack on Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE, the Sultanate of Oman, Bahrain, and Jordan on Sunday morning, coinciding with the targeting of a ship in Omani territorial waters.

Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain, and Kuwait announced the activation of their air defenses to counter attacks targeting their territories, a development that follows a new round of intense US strikes against military targets inside Iran.
