Students in secondary school grades continue to take their second-round examinations, which will run until the 22nd of this month. Tomorrow morning, Grade 10 and Grade 11 (Scientific) students will sit for their Mathematics exam, while Grade 11 (Arts) students will take the Geography exam. Grade 12 (Scientific) students will be tested in Physics, and Arts students in French.
According to the schedule recently announced by the Ministry of Education, report cards will be handed out to students on the last working day for staff assigned to the second-round exams, which falls on the 23rd of this month. This marks the end of the 2025-2026 academic year, described as an exceptional year due to the circumstances of war and Iran’s blatant aggression, which forced all educational stages to shift to remote learning.
In a related development, and as part of the Ministry’s efforts to provide educational opportunities and examination opportunities for all student categories, educational sources told Al-Jarida that the Ministry has set the first week of October next year as the start date for the exceptional second-round exams for students with intractable medical conditions or those undergoing treatment abroad. The Ministry will announce the specific dates through its official website.
Sources confirmed that the Ministry annually designates an exceptional exam round for students with medical conditions who were forced to travel abroad for treatment, as well as for their companions, or for severe cases where patients require surgical procedures in hospitals during the scheduled exam periods. They noted that students or their representatives must visit the Ministry’s main building and submit official documents verifying their condition, whether they are traveling for medical treatment abroad or have undergone surgery well before the exam dates, to obtain a special decision allowing them to take these exceptional exams.
The Ministry emphasized its commitment to rigorously scrutinizing the procedures for students entering these exceptional exams to prevent misuse by some. Applications to sit for exceptional exams are accepted only for difficult medical cases involving surgical procedures, supported by official medical reports from government or private hospitals certified by the Ministry of Health, or reports from the Department of Treatment Abroad confirming that the student was on an officially approved medical treatment trip.
Meanwhile, with the start of the summer holiday for school staff following the conclusion of the second-round exam duties on the 23rd of this month, and according to approved decisions for the start of the 2026-2027 academic year, September 7 next year will be the start of work for staff across all educational stages, including technical advisors for various academic fields, advisors working in educational activities, laboratory supervisors, and staff in administrative supervision units at adult education and literacy centers.
Regarding student attendance and the start of classes, schedules indicate that Grade 1 students will begin classes on September 15, while students in other grades will start the following day. Kindergarten children will begin their classes on September 17 next year.
