Al-Nuaimi: The UAE President holds a special place in the Emir's heart
The UAE Ambassador to Kuwait, Matar Al Nayer, affirmed that “President of the UAE Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed holds a special place in the heart of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad and in the heart of the Kuwaiti political leadership,” noting that “Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s visit to his brother, His Highness the Amir, came within the framework of solidarity and support for Kuwait and its resilience in the face of blatant Iranian aggression, and reflects the depth of the fraternal relations uniting the two countries, both in their leaderships and peoples.”
Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of a dinner hosted by the Indonesian Ambassador to Kuwait in honor of her Turkish counterpart, who will soon depart Kuwait, Al Nayer said: “Kuwait holds a special place in the hearts of the UAE leadership and people, and this visit embodies the continuity of communication, exchange of views and advice, and enhancement of political coordination between the leaderships of the two countries. It underscores shared destiny, mutual perspectives on various issues, and ongoing coordination, as our fate is one.”
He added that “the UAE and Kuwait are brothers forever, and this fraternal visit also comes within the context of this enduring brotherhood,” noting that “the UAE and Kuwait are bound by solid relations spanning decades, and the brotherhood between the two countries will remain a fundamental pillar in confronting various challenges.”
Regarding the warm reception accorded to the UAE President upon his arrival in Kuwait, Al Nayer said: “This step is not unusual,” affirming that “bilateral relations are built on love, mutual respect, and a shared history.”
He stressed that “the President of the UAE is the first leader to visit Kuwait since the onset of blatant Iranian aggression against countries in the region.”
In response to a question about coordination between the two countries in international forums, Al Nayer clarified that “consultation and coordination are ongoing at all levels,” pointing out that “the Kingdom of Bahrain, as the Arab representative on the Security Council, has introduced draft resolutions against blatant Iranian aggression, and these drafts are being consulted and coordinated on with all countries in the region. Joint statements have also been issued since the beginning of the crisis rejecting blatant Iranian aggression and its aggressive practices toward countries in the region.”
He added that “this coordination, consultation, communication, and contact are ongoing at all levels, and this is not unusual; rather, it stems from the keenness of the two brotherly countries to strengthen the Gulf position and unify shared perspectives in the region on regional issues, thereby contributing to consolidating security and stability in the region.” He noted that “the idea of establishing the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) originated in Kuwait and the UAE, and was subsequently supported by the other GCC member states, reflecting the depth of the historical partnership between the two countries. We pray to God for the continuation of this coordination and communication,” adding that joy over this fraternal visit spread across Abu Dhabi and Kuwait.
