Al-Watani Launches NBK Grow Program

As part of its strategy to invest in human capital and strengthen its leadership in digital transformation and innovation, National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) announced the launch of “NBK Grow,” a structured corporate mentoring program aimed at preparing a new generation of leaders in technology and data, and accelerating the development of promising technical talent within the bank by equipping them with the necessary expertise.

The launch of the program underscores the bank’s commitment to building a work environment based on continuous learning and knowledge sharing, reflecting its dedication to developing qualified technical cadres capable of keeping pace with and accelerating the bank’s digital transformation requirements.

The “NBK Grow” program relies on a comprehensive mentoring approach that aligns participants with experienced mentors from among the bank’s leaders and experts in technology, data, and digital transformation. This facilitates the establishment of effective professional relationships that contribute to knowledge transfer, skill development, and enhancing participants’ readiness for growth and career advancement.

The program constitutes a holistic development journey spanning 18 months. Participants are selected from high-performing employees with strong potential in technical fields, based on specific criteria focusing on competence, professional readiness, and capacity for growth, ensuring the attraction of a select group of talents capable of benefiting from the mentoring experience and achieving tangible impact.

Participants will undergo a series of introductory and developmental sessions that bring mentors and participants together, paving the way for the mentoring phase. This phase will continue through regular meetings and comprehensive developmental activities throughout the duration of the program.

The program focuses on strengthening the mentor-participant relationship through an integrated system of mentoring, guidance, and practical training. Participants receive continuous support, including professional guidance and knowledge transfer, alongside opportunities for knowledge exchange, ensuring maximum benefit from the development journey and preparing qualified technical cadres capable of assuming future leadership roles within the bank.

Additionally, the “NBK Grow” program equips participants with an AI-powered digital tool developed specifically to support their experience throughout the program. This tool enables quick access to information and answers to inquiries related to the program and the mentoring journey, thereby enhancing participants’ experience across all stages of the program.

Commenting on the occasion, Mariam Al-Nassrallah, Deputy Assistant to the President – Talent Management at Human Resources, NBK Group, said: “The launch of the NBK Grow program embodies our firm commitment to investing in our human capital and developing their technical and leadership capabilities, in line with the bank’s direction to accelerate digital transformation and consolidate a culture of innovation. We believe that empowering promising talent and providing them with appropriate mentoring and support constitutes a fundamental pillar for achieving organizational excellence and ensuring sustainable success.”

Al-Nassrallah added: “This program aims to support the development of future technical leaders within the bank, enhance collaboration and knowledge exchange among various units, and improve employee engagement and career path development. It also contributes to strengthening the talent ecosystem in technology and data fields, and consolidating corporate mentoring as a key pillar of sustainable learning.”

She emphasized that these initiatives contribute to establishing a collaborative work environment based on knowledge exchange among different professional generations, thereby enhancing knowledge transfer and supporting the development of future capabilities capable of keeping pace with the rapid developments in the banking and technology sectors.

Through the launch of these pioneering initiatives, NBK continues to reaffirm its steadfast commitment to investing in human capital and developing national competencies, particularly among the youth, who possess promising potential that requires guidance and development. The bank is also keen on building an integrated system to empower its employees, hone their skills, and enhance their ability to adapt to and keep pace with rapid digital transformations.

Driven by the conviction that developing competencies and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration form the foundation for achieving its strategic objectives, NBK is moving forward to strengthen its readiness for the future of banking, solidifying its position as a leading institution that actively contributes to the development of the financial sector, supports the path toward sustainable development, and enhances Kuwait’s standing on the global innovation and knowledge map.
