Israel Reveals Plans to Strike Iranian Infrastructure

In anticipation of a new military confrontation with Tehran or an Iranian attack on Israel, the Israeli newspaper Ma’ariv reported that the military has finalized plans for a broad-scale strike on Iranian infrastructure. According to the newspaper, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu currently prefers not to engage in the renewed escalation between Iran and the United States.
The newspaper quoted an Israeli security source as saying the military “has completed its offensive plans against Iran in anticipation of a resumption of a large-scale war or in the event that Tehran launches an attack on Israel,” adding that Israel “would achieve what it failed to accomplish in previous rounds if the political leadership decides to proceed.”
The source also noted the continued presence of thousands of U.S. troops and a significant air force contingent in Israel, considering this deployment a key factor in any potential escalation scenario.
According to Ma’ariv, the list of potential targets includes vital facilities in Iran’s oil and gas sectors, including Kharg Island, as well as power generation plants, industrial installations, and transportation networks, as part of efforts to inflict further damage on the Iranian economy.
The newspaper quoted the security source as saying that targeting these sites had been among the options not pursued in previous confrontations, clarifying that the decision not to widen the scope of strikes was coordinated between the United States and Israel.
He added, “There may be no other option, because Iran understands only the language of force.”
