Washington Invites Lebanese President to Visit; Aoun: Visit Will Bring Positives for Lebanon

While a White House official told Reuters on Wednesday that the United States has invited Lebanese President Joseph Aoun to visit on July 21, President Aoun stated that “my anticipated visit to Washington will discuss support for stability and a permanent solution to Israeli aggression.”

Regarding negotiations with Israel, the Lebanese president said that “the decision to negotiate enjoys the support of the majority of Lebanese, and we continue on this path despite the difficulties,” adding, “I had to take a step that could halt Israeli destruction and genocide and ultimately remove the occupation.”
