In line with its ongoing commitment to supporting Kuwaiti youth and investing in promising talent, NBK announced its sponsorship and partnership with the Public Relations Club at the Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST), to support a series of events and activities organized by the club during the 2026–2027 academic year. These initiatives aim to enhance students’ professional skills, broaden their practical horizons, and provide greater opportunities to connect with institutions, companies, and entities operating across various sectors.
This partnership extends NBK’s approach to strengthening its community and educational role, and contributing to building bridges of communication between banking institutions and the new generation of national talent, in alignment with its vision of supporting human development and empowering youth to acquire the experience and skills that enable them to confidently launch their professional careers.
The partnership includes collaboration in supporting and organizing more than eight major events throughout the academic year, combining educational, professional, sports, and awareness components, thereby providing students with an interactive environment that helps them develop their capabilities, discover their interests, and learn about labor market requirements. These initiatives also offer an opportunity to enhance the brand presence of sponsoring institutions on campus, engage directly with students, and build sustainable professional and community relationships between the private sector and educational institutions.
Commenting on this partnership, Aiman Al-Mutairi, Senior Manager of Public Relations and Corporate Communications at NBK, said: “NBK strives to be an active partner in initiatives that target youth and support their educational and professional journeys, based on our belief that true investment begins with people, and that empowering new generations requires providing opportunities that help them acquire knowledge and experience, and transform their aspirations into tangible achievements.”
Al-Mutairi added, “Our partnership with the Public Relations Club at the Gulf University for Science and Technology underscores our commitment to supporting high-quality student initiatives that go beyond academics to include character building, leadership and communication skills development, and fostering initiative and teamwork.”
Al-Mutairi emphasized in his statement, “Through this partnership, we look forward to contributing to creating rich educational and professional experiences for students, providing them with opportunities to familiarize themselves with the work environment and its requirements, thereby enhancing their readiness for the future and supporting their aspirations to actively participate in development.”
The partnership includes a series of events spread across the academic year. The club will organize “PR Market Week” in December 2026, one of its flagship events, which brings together student entrepreneurs and local brands through interactive booths and product and service exhibition spaces. This initiative aims to encourage an entrepreneurial culture, support startups, and provide networking opportunities between students and participating entities.
The agenda also includes “Movember Week” in November 2026, an awareness campaign focused on promoting men’s health, including mental health and prostate cancer awareness, through interactive activities, educational booths, and community engagement, while encouraging healthy lifestyles and early detection.
In February 2027, the club will launch “Sustainability Week,” aimed at raising environmental awareness and promoting sustainability concepts among students through interactive activities, educational booths, and eco-friendly initiatives, encouraging responsible practices toward the environment and society.
This initiative aligns with Warba Bank’s direction of enhancing corporate social responsibility and supporting initiatives that leave a positive and sustainable impact, contributing to reinforcing awareness of the importance of preserving natural resources and the environment.
The events also include organizing the “Ramadan Padel Tournament” during the holy month of Ramadan 2027. This sports tournament aims to foster team spirit and student interaction, encourage sports participation and healthy lifestyles, and provide opportunities for direct engagement with sponsoring entities.
In March 2027, the club will host “F1 Week,” inspired by the world of Formula 1 racing, featuring a range of interactive activities, competitions, and entertainment experiences designed to attract students and offer a distinctive university experience that combines fun, competition, and participation.
The club’s agenda is not limited to recreational and awareness events; it also extends to organizing professional seminars and specialized workshops featuring a select group of experts and specialists in public relations, media, and corporate communications.
These sessions aim to transfer practical experience to students, introduce them to key professional practices and challenges faced by professionals in these fields, and develop their practical skills while building professional relationships with participating speakers and experts.
These activities represent a vital opportunity for students to transition from theoretical knowledge to practical application, acquiring skills that enhance their employability, particularly in fields related to media, public relations, marketing, and corporate communications.
