The Director of the Meteorology Department, Essam Al-Ali, stated that the country is affected by active winds stirring up dust, with a chance of scattered light to moderate rainfall, occasionally thunderstorms, starting from yesterday afternoon and continuing until tomorrow morning, Monday. Al-Ali told KUNA that weather maps and numerical models indicate the country is influenced by an extension of a moist surface low-pressure system, concurrent with a low-pressure system in the upper atmospheric layers, leading to the proliferation of low and mid-level clouds and activity of southwesterly winds that stir up dust. He noted that horizontal visibility will drop to below 1,000 meters in some areas, and the winds will cause sea waves to rise to more than six feet. He clarified that cloud cover will gradually increase, interspersed with cumulus clouds accompanied by scattered rainfall, occasionally thunderstorms, with amounts ranging from light to moderate, and that a gradual improvement in weather conditions is expected to begin tomorrow morning. Al-Ali stressed that asthma and allergy patients must wear masks when going out out of necessity, especially during thunderstorms and the high humidity characteristic of this season. He called on citizens and residents to closely follow the weather bulletin through the Administration’s official website, its application, and its social media accounts to stay informed about the latest weather developments.
