The official spokesperson for the coalition forces, the “Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen,” Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, announced that air defenses intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Houthi terrorist militia toward the Medina region. He also announced the interception and destruction of a drone in the Eastern Province.
This came after two alerts were issued by the National Early Warning Platform for Emergency Situations in the provinces of Yanbu and Sharoura “to warn of danger,” before the danger was declared to have passed. Citizens and residents were urged to continue following civil defense instructions and to completely avoid gathering and taking photographs.
Meanwhile, the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council stated that the armed forces, as part of the “Fajr al-Yemen” (Yemen Dawn) operation, had carried out 40,761 military targeting operations against Houthi militias across various fronts since October 5. These operations resulted in the neutralization of approximately 20,000 of the militia’s leaders and members, and the destruction or damage of more than 5,000 vehicles.
In a statement marking the one-month anniversary of the operation’s launch, the Council added that these figures reflect the scale of the combat effort, the organized attrition, and the strikes inflicted on the militias and their military capabilities. It affirmed that “Fajr al-Yemen” would continue until its objectives were achieved: ending the coup, restoring state institutions, and extending state sovereignty over the entire territory of the country.
The Council pledged to the Yemeni people to persist with “Fajr al-Yemen” until the capital, Sana’a, is reclaimed, state authority is restored across the entire national territory, and the people’s sovereignty and the right of their children to a future free from militia rule are secured.
It praised the role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership, its humanitarian institutions, and its development programs in supporting the Yemeni people, bolstering their resilience, and strengthening state institutions. Saudi support has contributed to ensuring government employees’ salaries, maintaining services, alleviating humanitarian suffering, and implementing humanitarian and development projects and initiatives.
The Council stated that “the Kingdom, under its wise leadership and noble people, is a genuine partner in forging this legendary resilience of the Yemeni people and in defending its state and its desired future.”
It also commended the leading role of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, which answered the call of the Yemeni people with courage and dedication, and highly appreciated the efforts of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) and the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen (SPDRY), for their life-saving projects and initiatives that restore hope and livelihoods and stability.
It addressed the Saudi people, “who have borne with us the burdens of this pivotal battle, and whose security, facilities, and airports have been targeted by the terrorist militias’ attacks, with a salute of gratitude befitting the nobility and steadfastness of their stance.”
