Criminal Investigation Department Arrests Egyptian Resident with 392 Abortion Pills for Distribution and Sale

The Criminal Security Sector, represented by the Department for Combating Human Trafficking and Negative Phenomena, arrested an Egyptian resident engaged in promoting and selling abortion pills, as part of continuous security efforts to combat illegal activities.

The arrest followed intelligence regarding the suspect’s activities. After conducting necessary investigations, a sting operation was set up, resulting in his apprehension in the Al-Zahraa area, where he was found in possession of seven pills. A subsequent search of his residence in the Kuwait City area uncovered an additional 385 pills, bringing the total seized quantity to 392 pills, with an estimated market value of approximately 9,520 Kuwaiti dinars.

During the search, a quantity of women’s clothing intended for sale was also discovered, and it was revealed that the suspect had been marketing these items through social media platforms.

Investigations further showed that the suspect had obtained the pills from another individual belonging to his community. The suspect and the seized items have been referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal action against him.
