During a meeting chaired by His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, the Cabinet expressed its strong condemnation and rejection of the attack targeting the LNG carrier Al-Maiyah, owned by Qatar LNG Shipping Company (Qatargas), as it transited the waters of the Arabian Gulf. It reaffirmed its firm rejection of such acts, which pose a serious threat to the security and safety of maritime navigation and global energy supplies. The Cabinet stressed the importance of uncovering the circumstances surrounding the incident, identifying those responsible, and holding them accountable, while reiterating full solidarity with Qatar.

The Cabinet heard a briefing from Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber on the political and diplomatic efforts to keep pace with regional and international developments. It was informed that the Ministry had summoned Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Toutounji and handed him a protest note regarding a statement issued by the embassy, which contained blatant interference in Kuwait’s internal affairs.

The Cabinet was also briefed by Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ali on the content of a phone call he received from Saudi Minister of Defense, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Both sides reaffirmed their countries’ solidarity in addressing all challenges and threats to safeguard the security and stability of both nations.

The Cabinet approved a draft law amending certain provisions of Law No. (27) of 1995 concerning the participation of the private sector in developing state-owned vacant lands for residential care purposes, and submitted it to His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad. The amendment aims to transfer a portion of the lands allocated by the state to the Public Authority for Housing Welfare to other government entities, as required by public interest.
