Food Authority: 9 reports issued and 115 kg of unidentified meat destroyed in Farwaniya

The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition, represented by its Food Inspection Control in the Farwaniya Governorate, issued nine violation reports and destroyed 115 kilograms of meat of unknown origin during an inspection round of several food establishments in the governorate. In a press statement, the Authority said the round was conducted in cooperation with the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and Khaitan Food Inspection Centers, as part of efforts to intensify oversight and ensure compliance with approved health regulations and standards. It noted that other violations observed included the use of additional spaces without obtaining the necessary approvals, thawing frozen meat and displaying it for sale as fresh meat, and failure to adhere to general health rules and requirements. The Authority also indicated that the violations included the circulation of adulterated food products without a valid health certificate. It emphasized that this inspection round is part of the Food Inspection Control’s efforts in the Farwaniya Governorate to strengthen oversight of food establishments, combat non-compliant practices, and ensure the safety of food in circulation, thereby safeguarding the health and safety of consumers.
