Nada Abu Nasr participated in the proceedings of the second resumed seventeenth session of the Implementation Review Group of the United Nations Convention against Corruption, held in the Austrian capital, Vienna, from November 2 to 6, 2026.

In her statement, delivered by the observer for international organizations and conferences, Dhafer Bouyabes, Kuwait emphasized the importance of developing the implementation review mechanism and enhancing the utilization of its findings, thereby contributing to national and international efforts aimed at consolidating integrity and combating corruption.

Kuwait outlined the key legislative and institutional developments related to anti-corruption efforts, including the issuance of Law-Decree No. 78 of 2026 on combating commercial concealment, Law-Decree No. 79 of 2025 on international judicial cooperation in criminal matters, and Law-Decree No. 69 of 2025 amending certain provisions of Law No. 2 of 2016 concerning the establishment of the Public Authority for Combating Corruption and provisions related to the disclosure of financial status. These measures enhance the effectiveness of the national system and reinforce international cooperation in combating transnational crimes and asset recovery.

Bouyabes also noted the completion of the implementation of the first National Strategy for Enhancing Integrity and Combating Corruption, and the ongoing work on preparing the second phase, in alignment with “Kuwait 2035” vision and the Sustainable Development Goals. At the conclusion of her statement, Kuwait reaffirmed its commitment to the provisions of the United Nations Convention against Corruption and its dedication to continuing active participation in the implementation review mechanism’s work, supporting international efforts to develop and strengthen its impact.
