The Saudi-led Coalition for Legitimacy in Yemen continued to thwart further Houthi attacks yesterday, with the official spokesperson for the Coalition’s forces, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, announcing the interception and destruction of two drones in the Riyadh area. Al-Maliki had previously announced that air defenses intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the so-called Houthi terrorist militia toward the southern region.
For her part, the Yemeni Armed Forces announced yesterday that they, with the support of popular resistance, had regained several positions on the Al-Aqroud front in southeastern Ta’iz Governorate, following fierce clashes with the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militias. According to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), a military source in the Ta’iz sector clarified that the Yemeni Armed Forces succeeded in liberating Nuba, Thib, and Tabat Mubarak after fierce battles that resulted in dozens of casualties among the militia ranks.
For his part, the official spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, Colonel Major Majid Al-Nazili, said in a statement yesterday: “Our armed forces continue to carry out their combat missions as part of Operation ‘Yemen’s Dawn.’ Over the past 24 hours, they conducted 951 targeting operations against concentrations, movements, fortifications, firing positions, vehicles, and supply lines of the so-called Houthi terrorist militia, using combat aircraft, drones, field artillery, and rocket launchers.”
He added in a statement on the X platform: “The operations resulted in neutralizing approximately 332 field commanders and militia elements, and destroying or damaging 56 light and heavy military vehicles and equipment, distributed across the northern fronts, the fronts in Al-Jawf, Marib, Al-Bayda, and the southern and southwestern fronts. In Ta’iz, the heroes of the Yemeni Armed Forces and the popular resistance continue to engage in combat with steadfastness and determination, repelling militia attacks and targeting their positions, movements, and firing positions, inflicting significant losses in personnel and equipment, demonstrating the fighters’ resilience and resolve to defend Ta’iz and its people.”
He emphasized that, in parallel with combat operations and their development from the positions regained on the Al-Jawf front, military engineering units continue to clear recovered areas of landmines and improvised explosive devices to mitigate risks to civilians and secure areas where clearance operations are being completed.
He concluded: “Our armed forces continue to carry out their missions with determination and readiness, while taking necessary precautions to protect civilians and civilian objects.”
